Day 1:
I rode my bruised tailbone with J to Lincoln, NB to meet the one and only Big Al. We rode to Truro and camped out at the only non smoking room available in the city at the luxurious Tidal Bore Inn. We punched it in and blew it up, getting Bikefest started right.
Day 2: Bri-Bri met us in Truro and we rode to South Bar to drink beer and pig out with Da.
Day 3: A new run for us. We rode the Fleur-de-Lis trail with a detour to the Lighthouse Trail in Louisbourg. Made sure we stopped to look at Point Michaud beach and visited Tessa. It was a killer hot day which made us need extra beers to shotgun when we got home.
Day 4: Cabot Trail. Gorgeous weather, great riding. Picked up Laura in Bras D'or, visited the ladies in Cheticamp, and rode some insane landscapes hard! Cape Smokey is one of the craziest rides of life, I couldn't help but ride it with a big smirk on my face. Got home with a sun blistered face and hands and a great sense of accomplishment.
Day 5: Back to the Fort. Rode back to PEI with Big Al and Bri-Bri. Reunited with Broadway (suffering a gimpy leg thing possibly from running too hard while on vacation!). Spent the eve relaxing with even more beers!
Day 6: Escorted Big Al back to the Confederation Bridge then had a birthday breakfast with Bri-Bri. Is Vacation really over??
Funny things: "Punch it in", "Blow it up", Big Al in my mirrors laughing while riding down Smokey, bad sun tans, Shotgunning beer with our Dads, Tidal Bore Inn, Big Mike & Bri-Bri's Bromance (with matching outfits everyday), bike flags.
Total: 2361 kms
